A Mid–Winter Yellowstone

There is a way to visit Yellowstone and have the place pretty much to yourself.

Just go during the winter, like my friend Kay and I recently did.

January is a particularly nice month to be in the Upper Geyser Basin. Just watch your step on the snow–covered boardwalks!

The bison seem to like it then, too, as they snuffle and snort along the Firehole River.

Spend a few days. You won’t regret the effort it took to get there, and you may not ever want to leave.
