Zion Canyon

I spent a few hours in the park yesterday with my hiking club, picking up whatever small bits of trash we found on the mile-long riverwalk trail at the Temple of Sinewava.  I could not leave after we finished our task, but stayed to linger for the rest of the afternoon along the Virgin River, slowly making my way through the filtered autumn sunlight and surrounded by the towering cliffs of  Navajo Sandstone.

  1. Having just moved to Virgin, Utah, I can understand the allure of lingering among the sandstone features. Sometimes I don't get any further than coffee on the patio of Me Me's or Park House as if shy to make my introductions. I'm savoring the beginning of what I hope will be a long-term relationship with the land in southern Utah.

    1. I appreciate your comment, Charli. I wrote this post 6 years ago to the month! Thanks for the reminder - sometimes in the hustle of life we forget where we've been and why we went there in the first place. ZION is our back yard.
